Amy Johnson

Who am I? A question I have spent many ponderous years reflecting on.

I am a mother of 2 children, Luke (6) and Sophia (8).  I am a wife of 10 years to Jim Johnson. We live in the bucolic countryside about 50 miles east of Atlanta, Georgia. I am deeply introspective and spend a lot of time in my head.  I am unendingly, never-ceasing, passionate about design and decorating. It remains an all-consuming thought in my mind. I live and breathe new, fresh, innovative ideas and can never seem to get enough of it. I want it for myself, and for everyone around me.

If I had to surmise my design philosophy, I would say, good design is available to everyone, regardless of budget. That is why I say “good design is not a luxury”. While it is an extraordinary opportunity to design a space from the ground up, it is equally, if not more gratifying, to work with a clients existing pieces and imagine them in a new way, bringing a sense of harmony, rhythm and balance to a space. I take on each project with the same passion as if it were my space.

In the end, I want to be known for many things, not the least of which, a talented, hard-working, succesful, passionate, enthusiastic ever evolving designer. And while some will say I should edit parts of what I choose to reveal about myself, I say, lay it all out there, be true, be BOLD, be a woman of integrity and let your light shine. God gave each of us a gift to share, this is mine.
